OYSTER BOAT (2019)
As an undergraduate student at Florida State University my bookmaking course had the opportunity to work on a collaboration of Small Craft Advisory Press and artist Christopher Kardambikis which was featured in the New York Art Book Fair.
"Oyster Boat fishes for the leftovers, deletions, false starts, or byproducts of making—the waiting spat. Bringing the peripheral to center focus, it harvests from the drafts and trimmings of contemporary artists, writers, and thinkers. Hand-printed in small editions, Oyster Boat celebrates the sediment-rich material that feeds creative practice while charting new territories in collaboration and experimental book production." -Small Craft Advisory Press
My course group selected which works left by artist to integrate and created the theme of the piece. We formatted the structure of the book and selected print materials. I individually melded my illustrations with the artist's drawings and created a card featured in the book's structure
